Birthday bash

After a couple whirlwind weeks at work, plus lots of unpacking at home, we finally found an excuse for a break: Nathan's 11th birthday!

First, a trip to the Dole Plantatation which, as luck would have it, shares the kid's birthday (July 28, 1900 is when it opened!).


While there, we went "Over the Hedge" and spent about an hour looking for the 'secret stations' in the Pineapple Maze.












Then it was off the North Shore. Oh look... turtles!

Nathan's choice for dinner: coconut shrimp at Hale'iwa Joe's. After that, it was time for the boys' first sunset from the North Shore. It won't be the last one they see!
